Localization Editor - Buenos Aires - Google

The role: Localization Editor

As a Localization Editor, you are passionate about language and will help shape Google’s voice in your native country and language. Our mission is to make all of the world's information universally accessible and useful, and we take that seriously for far more than just English language products. You will help us make sure that Google is useful and fun in the language you know best.

You have strong translation and localization experience and are also a experienced Spanish-English translator with a creative, marketing, or localization background.

Responsibilities:


Form a critical part of the Google in-country “go-to-market” team with Marketing, Product, and PR.
Shape the Google tone and voice across all website copy and content.
Work with the Marketing and Product local representatives to drive localization of Google products.
Work closely with Google’s translators and drive linguistic quality.
Edit and proofread translated material, such as UI, online help, marketing material, and outbound communication.


Requirements:

BA/BS preferred in your language of expertise or a related discipline with a strong academic record. Master's degree a plus.
Experience as a translator, linguist, or writer. Strong preference for experience in fiction, marketing/advertising translations, and localization.
Speak fluently and idiomatically in Spanish as well as a high level of proficiency in English.
Detail-oriented and quality-focused.
Ability to work independently, as well as to work cooperatively with other resources.
