TRANSLATOR ENGLISH TO SPANISH

DESCRIPTION
You will be working at a regional language provider based in Buenos Aires specializing in Spanish and Portuguese localization projects. The translator will produce English to Spanish translations as well as edit or proofread translations coming from external linguists.

POSITION SUMMARY
The successful candidate will translate software, technical documentation and training materials on a daily basis working closely with Project Managers, editors and client reviewers to create high quality localized versions of such material.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible for translating software, technical documentation and training materials from English into Spanish.
• Responsible for ensuring that translations comply with linguistic, cultural and industry norms as well as corporate instructions.
• Perform linguistic QA on translations coming from external suppliers

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Applied Linguistics, Translation and/or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 3 years in technical translation.
• Must be fluent in both written and verbal English communication.
• Native Spanish speaker
• Highly motivated with a mix of technical, organizational, and communication skills to provide technical translations.
• Knowledgeable in, and sensitive to, multilingual and multicultural issues.
• Self-motivated and independent with a strong work ethic.
• Excellent command of MS Office and common CAT tools, mainly Trados Translators Workbench
• Strong computer skills including desktop publishing tools as well as engineering and mechanical design.
• Familiarity with general IT and computer terminology
